Re: The Need to Merge

This message was sent via email from a GOOOH supporter in New York.

I have, along with many Americans, been watching the events that have been taking place in Washington in regards to the "stimulus plan" and the cures that our new President has proposed. I view and think that most Americans view these events with a sinking feeling. Our country is coming apart at the seams. I think we are all left with a helpless feeling that we can do nothing about. Nobody can be happy with the decisions that are being made and the impact they will have on our children’s and grandchildren's future.

Both major parties are arguing and dealing away our future, putting our country in major debt. We see the first "TARP" payment to the banks and lending institutions squandered away through the payout of excessive bonuses with no, or little, transparency.

Now a second "TARP" payment is to be paid with, once again, little accountability to the tax payer. We watch our television in dismay at a second proposed "stimulus" and see the same legislators arguing with what is certain to be the same results. We are left shouting our disagreement at our televisions, yet the politicians still move forward.

For several weeks I have had a sick feeling over America's dilemma and our feeling of helplessness, wondering if there is a solution and a way to get our country back from these deal making crooked politicians.

I then realized that we (GOOOH) are heading in the right direction, but we are moving too slowly. I realized that in order to make our endeavor work we will have to resort to our own deal making and form our own coalitions with other similar groups or organizations which have not yet attained the size needed to challenge the two major parties. Right now we are too splintered and marginalized to make a difference in America's political scene. But if we could put together a coalition of these groups, especially those who have a belief in the Constitution and the reinstitution of the belief's of the "Founding Fathers", returning power to the American people and away from the 35,000 lobbyist's in Washington, we could succeed.

Re: The Need to Merge

Part 2 (of B Chamberlain's "The Need to Merge")

I have been a life long Conservative and have in the last few years become disenchanted with the marriage between the Conservative Party and the Republicans. I feel as if the Republican base has drifted away from conservative philosophies and become more moderate. I believe that now is the time to form coalitions with the Conservative Party, The Constitution Party and other smaller groups or parties with similar ideals, merging our ideas into one and forming a unified platform that we all can support. Unification of similar ideas and the preservation of the Constitution should be the primary goal, forming a party that can challenge either Republicans or Democrats or collectively both.

I feel that many Americans of both major parties are feeling disenfranchised. They are  seeking another venue to voice their opinions at the ballot box. Our politicians are on a spending binge and despite the rhetoric, their Spending Plan will not be successful creating jobs or putting Americans back to work. All it will do is increase the debt we are passing to our heirs.

We cannot wait any longer for change. Let's rally America around GOOOH and remove the politicians.

Your friend in New York, B Chamberlain, Dansville, N.Y.
