It would br hard to find a Jefferson that is not fighting a legal battle here. I don't understand (really I do) how this guy is even in the hunt for any seat. |

Unfortunately, we have good ole boys (like Huey) to thank for that. Not to mention, our home state still allows bussing for non-presidential races. This would be considered hearsay, but Mary only won by a small margin when she was first elected. With a family member working for Lender, I got the inside scoop. Her supporters would take public school busses to pick-up people. To entice would be voters on the bus, they would either give them McD's vouchers or a crisp $20 bill. When Lender tried to file suit, our great state judges threw out the case without review. |

William J. Jefferson (D-LA)
|
William J. Jefferson (D-LA) was caught with $90,000 in cash “bribe money” hidden in his freezer, and has allegedly accepted much more. He has also been charged in a global campaign to solicit bribes, obstruct justice and engage in racketeering. His brother-in-law, Alan Green, a former state judge, was convicted of mail fraud in a bail bond corruption case in suburban New Orleans. |
