| Did you ever Hello , get an answer.................cin3@me.com

Goooh House would send up to them. Why on earth did you not include the Senate in your plan?
Don't you realize that the Senate's obstructionism could be spun as the obvious failure of the Goooh idea?
Oh, I know that if the Goooh plan worked for the House, it would sooner or later show up in the Senate. But why the delay? I suspect that you chose to avoid the extra complications due to the fact that Senate candidates are statewide instead of district elections. I'm not sure that's a valid reason |

Tim,
I can see how you think this will work. I don't think that I was being negative, just realistic.Given 8 or 10 years to gain popularity, this could work.
People have voted Democrat or Republican for way too long. Others have tried this same thing before with no success. The problems we face right now, need a solution right now, not years down the road. I don't think with the recent, communist/socialist activity taking place in our government, that we have time on our side. We need to work toward the 2010 election, to make a change. Yes, after that change has been made, your system can keep government in step. But if we don't do something now, we may never get another chance.
I know of some other people, with good ideas, that can work if they get the support. It don't cost a thing. All people need to do is vote all the incumbents out "fire congress" in 2010.This will send a message, and at the same time invoke term limits, if we do this every 2 years. Until they understand we still have the power to fire them, and work for our interest, we will fire them again.

That's pretty negative, but we do understand the sentiment. GOOOH is different than any third party in many, many ways. We are non-partisan. We separate the money from the candidates. Candidates define their own platform. Candidates are selected by their peers. Candidates are not career politicians. Our candidates agree up front to be held accountable and vote as they said they would.
40 companies thought Michael Dell was wrong; 39 of them are out of the PC business today. IBM effectively gave the Operating System to Bill Gates because they didn't see the possibilities. We were laughed out of the room by several oil companies when we told them we were going to put credit card readers in the gas pump. Cell phones, microwave ovens, the internet, google, and a thousand other inventions have changed the world. Remember, some people use to think the stars revolved around the earth, that the world was flat, and the Wright Brothers were crazy. Could GOOOH be that next new thing?
Is it possible you just do not yet see the possibilities offered by our system? |

Hi everyone,
I Know I'm new to your site. I was just trying to understand what makes you different from the many other web sites, that think by starting a new political party, that it will be accepted by the voting public ??? New political parties have'nt been accepted by the voting public in over 40 years. Even if you can put together 435 new candidates by 2010, how many will gain a seat in congress??? Unless you can gain at least half the seats, your candidates will be over powered by the rest (incumbents). The only way I see to make change in government, is to fire all the congressmen , aka crooks, via our vote. There is so many different ideas out there. Some may prove effective ,and some are a complete waste of time. The change we need should come by November 2010. With so many people going in so many different directions, even the good ideas will never gain the necessary support it will need by then, unless all of these sites come together. Seems to me this will all be a big waste, if we as the American voters, can't unite on one common goal.
Thank you...

I believe that once the people take over the House, it will be clear that Senators must change their ways. I see no reason why they would oppose House term limits, particularly when they would be putting limits on their competition. But, if they do, 2010 will be here before we know it--and I expect the best of the GOOOH representatives will consider a run for the 33 in-play Senate seats.
Time is on our side. Taking the House will be a monumental accomplishment. Our founding fathers intended the Senate to be the elder statesmen of our country. Let's give them a chance to change their ways while we put our house in order. 2010 will be here before we know it. Let's also keep all of our funds focused.
Nelson - We hope you will encourage all of your members and everyone in your network to support GOOOH. It is the support of members like Carl and you that will determine if the people succeed. We will get our government back to where 85% of us want it to be, but we must treat this like the game of chess that it is. We have a solid plan, but must recognize the dominant position the opponent holds. We must play wisely, and slowly to turn the table.
The plan is in place; all we need is for the people to rally around it.

Don't forget the reverse is also true. Anything that passes through the Senate must be voted through the House. I, personally, would view legislative gridlock as a near-term win. A great example is the failed McCain-Kennedy "Amnesty Bill" that was struck down three times this past session. Comprehensive immigration reform was not accomplished, but at least THAT immigration reform was not. No legislation beats the stuffings out of bad legislation in my book.
If the Senate wants to appear productive, it would have to capitulate to an eventually GOOOH controlled House. The key is for the GOOOH controlled House not to capitulate in return and stand on it's promises. Now, this won't necessarily be the case in all circumstances since non-partisan liberals, conservatives, moderates, libertarians, etc. are permitted to participate in GOOOH. |

The major flaw in a terrific idea!
|
Hello Tim,
Congratulations on a great idea! I am the owner of tenurecorrupts.com, pushing Congressional Term Limits for about 4 years now, building a membership of 1300 people in all 50 states, and have distributed about 700 "Dont Reelect Them!" bumper stickers nationally. But until I read your book, I knew that I needed a really different idea to get the attention of the great mass of the public who have given up hope toward getting rid of professional politicians and the two-party system.
But... I was distressed that you ignored the fact that the House can do nothing without the concurrence of the Senate. Those masters of legislative arrogance would move heaven and earth to demolish everything that the new Goooh House would send up to them. Why on earth did you not include the Senate in your plan?
Don't you realize that the Senate's obstructionism could be spun as the obvious failure of the Goooh idea?
