Re: Corruption is still the root of the problem

Do we agree that the current system is broken, and that far too many of the current politicians are not getting the results we need? Do you agree that the current politicians would never implement a plan like you suggest - just as they will never implement term limits or IRV? Do you agree we need to do something different?

There is of course no way any system could guarantee no corruption, but please consider the GOOOH process and how everyday Americans just like you will be choosing the candidate while being considered yourself. If the selected candidate has defined his/her own platform, has not accepted special interest money, and is going to Washington for no more than two terms, what percent do you believe will be corrupt?

GOOOH is not perfect, but it addresses the core issues and by taking the career politicians out of the process will do a MUCH better job of weeding out the corrupt officials.

Corruption is still the root of the problem

I'm sorry; I still don't see the root of the problem, corruption, being solved. What stops the GOOOH Representative from getting that very low interest house loan? Or from taking the special interest bribe in cash and stuffing it in the lining of his/her freezer? Yes, it has happened!  For that matter, they could put the money in their personal checking account.  The voters would never know.

My suggestion to solving this problem is to elect an accountant for every elected official in the house and senate.  They would all meet in Washington each year and draw names from a hat.  The name they draw that year would be the elected official they would Audit.  This Audit would be reviewing not only his Political accounting but also the personal accounting.  This makes the corrupt officials really work at hiding bribe money.  Each year it would change, so an elected official with a 4 year term would have 4 different Audits.  They would never know who would be auditing them. An elected official from New York might have an auditor from California, South Dakota, Alaska and
