Re: Federal Government and public schools

We haven't figured out how to word this just yet, but if something significant changes (e.g. if the federal Department of Education were eliminated), our Representatives answers to related questions would have to be negotiable. We'll have to jump off that bridge when we get to it (my favorite mixed metaphor).

Ixnay the question....  Found the answer reading other threads: one will be given opportunity to justify ones answers during the selection process.  ;-)

Federal Government and public schools

There are a number of questions concerning the involvment of the fed in public schools.  One of them, currently #49, asks us to consider returning control of the public schools to the states, yet others, 15, 50-52, assume the fed is still in control.  If one believes the fed does not belong in the educational system, then one should not be able to support continued federal control, even if the proposals are good ideas.  Same with drug control:  if one believes a constitutional amendment was required to grant congress the right to ciminalize drugs (meaning current laws are illegal), then one should be required to vote no on any bill regarding drug control, including punishments.

What we need is a community white board here, a flow chart of sorts, some way of organizing these questions into logical categories.  http://glassbooth.org/index.php  Glassbooth has done a decent job or organizing, with some relevant questions.  Maybe could build on that?
