Tim Cox's Bio
Tim Cox spent 25 years creating innovative solutions in the high-tech world. He developed software for a spy satellite, helped build the first credit card reading gas pump, and created systems at Dell as they grew to a $55 billion Fortune 25 giant. In 2007 he walked away from a lucrative career in the tech industry to create GO, a system to elect true citizen representatives to the United States House of Representatives. With over two million web site visitors, GO is on track to choose candidates for 2012.
An amazing sequence of events, beginning with a move to Liberty Hill, TX, in 2004, led to the creation of GOOOH. An insistent clerk convinced Cox to read A Brilliant Solution describing what some would call the miraculous creation of our Constitution. That led him to the writings of Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, Alexis de Tocqueville, and others. While Cox had been developing innovative computer systems for a living, his passion suddenly shifted.
Today he aims for loftier goals: an overhaul of our nation’s government, and a House of Representatives that is unfettered by special interest groups and not filled with career politicians. To outline his plan, Cox has released Get Out of Our House: Revolution! (Bridgeway Books), which details a new method for restoring integrity to our government, beginning with the U.S. House. The plan is to evict career politicians - all 435 of them if necessary - and replace them with everyday Americans chosen by their peers. In the book Revolution!, Cox also examines the key issues our current representatives have neglected, and provides a grassroots strategy for holding newly selected representatives accountable. The Get Out of Our House (GOOOH) movement represents a revolutionary effort to create a congressional body that will truly reflect the interests of the people.
Tim Cox received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin, and a master’s degree in Business Administration from St. Edward’s University. He currently lives with his wife, Donna, in Liberty Hill, Texas. They have two children.
