GOOOH has made phenomenal progress since we first launched: we have attracted over 400,000 visitors to our website, gathered tens of thousands of supporters, and had speaking engagements and talk radio interviews in well over 100 cities across America. However, we were not able to land the knockout punch in the first round that we hoped for, and did not enroll the 500,000+ members needed to launch a strong campaign in 2008. Therefore, we are shifting our focus to the 2010 election and will use the time between now and then to continue growing our support base and getting the word out about GOOOH. Instead of building from a base of a dozen members as we did in the 2008 election cycle, we will now have an army of tens of thousands in January of 2010!

We understand some would have liked to see us run at least one candidate in 2008, but the fact that our funds have been raised nationally, and given the cost to compete head-to-head with the parties on a per-district basis, we did not pursue this approach. It is important that we stick to our original strategy and remain focused on going after all 435 seats at the same time with a single national campaign. We will move forward, learning from our experiences and capitalizing on the GOOOH visibility and membership that many more months of Congressional ineptitude leading up to the 2010 elections will generate.

Money is not the critical factor at this time - building our base of members is, and once we have the number of members needed we will focus on raising campaign funds. However, we do need to keep the system operating, and If you can afford to contribute financially today we hope you will do so.  Remember - you do not have to donate the full amount all at once. All funds received to date, and those received hereafter, will be applied toward the 2010 election.

To summarize, going for the proverbial knockout punch in the first round with a 2008 campaign was a calculated strategy with minimal risk. We made tremendous progress since GOOOH first launched, and we continue to gain new members every day. We will only get stronger with time. Our success will ultimately be determined by how many people join the effort over the next several months, and we hope you will make a personal commitment to continue recruiting as many new members as you can.
